About this Project
This waterfront project in Tilghman Island, MD is for a new home that was constrained by the footprint of the previous, demolished home due to waterfront regulations. We adapted the existing footprint to create a symmetrical layout with variations on the gables at each end that reflect the uses of the spaces inside. The rear opens up to wide vistas of the water with a large folding glass door at the back, a retractable screened porch system, and large rear decks. Design Matters worked with local zoning attorneys to overcome several regulatory challenges that hindered the development potential of the property.
