BAER RESIDENCE

This private residence combines contemporary design with traditional Japanese influences. Heavy timber framing and local white cedar wood details ornament the exterior.
The house is separated into two wings, one for private living spaces and the other for gathering and hosting. They are connected by an entry lobby and grand staircase.
The design takes advantage of site topography to create outdoor living spaces at the lower rear level and an on grade entrance and garage at the upper level. The living room balcony cantilevers over the lower floor to create a striking feature and provide dramatic views of the nearby landscape.
